About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Montréal at 1800 Av de l'Église, Maman Sady Restaurant offers an authentic and refined Persian dining experience that beautifully marries tradition with a contemporary touch. Known for its elegant yet warm atmosphere, this restaurant’s simple and artistic décor sets a peaceful tone, making it an inviting spot for both intimate dinners and relaxed gatherings.

The culinary journey at Maman Sady is a celebration of rich Persian flavors, brought to life through carefully selected ingredients and masterful cooking techniques. Signature dishes such as the Lamb Shank (Mahicheh), stewed to tender perfection and served alongside fragrant fava dill rice, tantalize the palate with their depth and comfort. For seafood lovers, the Meigoo Polow presents marinated shrimp paired with a delightful walnut and raisin herb rice that effortlessly balances savory and sweet notes.

Kebab enthusiasts will be especially pleased with the variety offered. The Guilan Torsh Beef Kebab stands out with its marinated filet mignon infused with walnuts, pomegranate paste, and local herbs—a symphony of tangy and earthy flavors grilled just right and served alongside perfectly cooked rice and grilled tomato. Meanwhile, the iconic Koobideh Sandwich encapsulates juicy, spiced ground beef nestled in warm, grilled pita bread with fresh tomatoes, onions, and herbs—a bite bursting with tradition and comfort. The saffron-infused chicken kebab offers a fragrant and tender alternative, marinated in a delicate blend including saffron and lemon juice for a refreshing zest.

Beyond the mains, the menu showcases a thoughtfully curated selection of sides and starters that highlight the richness of Persian cuisine. Treat your senses to the smoky, garlicky warmth of Mirza Ghasemi, a grilled eggplant purée enriched with egg and tomato, or savor the cooling balance of Mast Moosir, yogurt blended with Persian shallots that refreshes the palate. The Torshi pickled vegetables and marinated olives (Zeytoon Parvardeh) provide a burst of tangy complexity that complements every dish.

Guests consistently praise Maman Sady’s attentive and friendly staff who enhance the dining experience with their genuine hospitality. Mohammad Kamrani appreciated not only the exquisite Koobideh kebab but also the calm and artistic environment, while roj found comfort in the perfectly juicy kebabs and authentic preparation of traditional dishes like Gheymeh Nesar. Ali Mohammadi highlights the newly renovated bright and clean interior that pairs wonderfully with the rich, flavorful soups and traditional sides.

Whether you are seeking a genuine taste of Persian heritage or a cozy place to enjoy flavorful kebabs and stews, Maman Sady Restaurant stands out as a culinary gem in Montréal’s diverse dining scene. Its balance of rich, aromatic dishes and a serene ambiance invites patrons to relax and savor each carefully crafted bite.

I had a lovely experience at Maman Sady Restaurant. The place is beautifully designed, artistic and calm with simple, elegant architecture that gives it a peaceful atmosphere. The food was very good, especially the Koobideh kebab. The staff were extremely friendly and professional, which made the visit even better. It’s also nice that they have private parking, which makes things a lot easier. The only small downside was the Baghali Polo, which could have used a bit more salt. But overall, everything was great and I would definitely come back again!

I had a great experience at Maman Sady Restaurant. The place has been newly renovated and is very clean with a welcoming, comfortable ambiance. The service was excellent — the staff were kind, friendly, and made us feel right at home. We started with a creamy chicken soup that was rich and flavorful, and it was included with the meal. I ordered the Fesenjoon along with a side of Zeytoon Parvardeh, both of which were delicious. Other person tried the Ghaimeh Nesar, and he was happy with his meals. The portions were generous, so we ended up taking some to go. We finished with a nicely presented Persian tea, which came with unlimited refills. Just note that the tea is extra and not included in the meal. If you're looking for authentic Iranian food in a clean, relaxed setting with great service, I highly recommend giving Maman Sady a try.

I have no complaint. The decor was beautiful just like the staff. It comes without saying that the food was delicious and left me wanting more. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

The atmosphere and the staff are great, so is the food presentation. But the quality is not the best. I ordered the torsh and it did not taste that great, it tasted like garlic, which makes no sense. The aash, though, was very very good! I tried my friend’s joojeh and it too was very mediocre. The rice was also too oily. Given the limited iranian kabob choices in montreal though, I’d still go back.

I had a great experience at Maman Sady. The place feels warm and welcoming, and the staff are super kind and attentive. The koobideh was juicy and full of flavor, the Vaziri was perfect for trying both saffron chicken and koobideh, and the Gheymeh Nesar was amazing, beautifully made and very authentic. Overall, a very comforting spot with delicious food. I’ll definitely be coming back.

cozy place with simple and delicious home cooked food ! Everything was really flavorful ! Highly reccomend the aubergine and tomato dip and the beef stew :) staff were super nice too! one reccomendation i would add is that they should replace the lebanese bread with the normal pita which is the thicker one, that would be a game changer ! (i hope they understand which one). Overall excellant experience and highly reccomend going :)

My friends and I visited an amazing Iranian restaurant. The interior was beautiful, clean, and freshly renovated. The staff were polite and friendly, and the food was not only delicious but also had a comforting, homemade taste. The portions were generous, and we took the leftovers home. Everything was of excellent quality. They even started us off with a complimentary milk soup, which was perfect since we were very hungry—it truly made our day special

Their food is absolutely delicious! We’ve been to this restaurant several times, and the quality has always been consistently great. The ingredients are fresh, and the Persian dishes are full of authentic flavor. The kebabs are especially amazing—particularly the barg kebab, which is wonderfully tender and flavorful. We also really enjoyed the soup served as an appetizer—it was rich and tasty. The staff are always welcoming, and the service is warm and attentive. The atmosphere feels inviting and comfortable. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves delicious Persian food and great service!
